We designed and curated a series of fusion songs and videos with Rushil and Kurt Hugo Schneider. We wanted to take popular English songs and fuse them with an Indian twist. The songs were composed in London and then the videos were produced and shot in Los Angeles. For one song we flew in Neeti Mohan from India and the second, Abi Sampa from the UK.

The song with Abi Sampa was a cover of Love lies by Khalid and had an acoustic indian twist to the vocal melodies. The inclusion of a violin helped to set the mood for what felt like a scene from a surreal dream sequence.

The song with Neeti Mohan was a remake of A Sky Full of Stars by Coldplay, where Neeti sung an original verse in Hindi to fuse with the English cover parts of the song. This particular video happened to be a one-take that also included the traditional south Asian instruments that featured in the song.

Both videos were released on Kurt Hugo Schneider’s YouTube channel and amassed hundreds of thousands of views – the song with Neeti Mohan recently reached 1.1 million views, which is a notable milestone for the project.
